Backup for the Masses!

Well, for me, anyway. The Apple Time Capsule Network Backup Hard Drive is the latest addition to my electronics menagerie.

There's a lot worth worrying about on my home computer. I have everything on my trusty first-generation Macbook Pro: thousands of megabytes of songs, photos, videos, personal documents, tax records, and everything else that you could imagine. If something awful ever happened to my laptop (theft! flood! steamroller!), no insurance payout could ever pay me back the memories from my trip to New Zealand, or my friends from far away.

So, I coughed up the $299 + tax, and all seems well so far. I pretty much just plugged it in, turned on my Mac, ran the Airport Setup tool, and I was all set. My computer backs up as I type. Of course, I already had Leopard installed, and good thing too, because it's required.
